A heart of hidden fire.

A natural fire agate cabochon glows at the center of this hand-formed sterling silver heart — tilt it in the light and bands of green, gold, and orange fire flash up from within the stone, an iridescence that comes from nature, not dye. The cab is bezel-set on a reticulated (heat-textured) silver ground and framed by a twisted rope border. Finished front and back.

Handmade by Bob Boscarelli — field paleontologist and silversmith & lapidary working from Soquel, California. He studied jewelry at Cabrillo College under Dawn Nakanishi, whose rule stuck with him: make the back as nice as the front. Part of his Cyberzoic studio collection; arrives with a small card telling its story.
